Engineer Flow, Mass and Imaging Cytometry - AC1022

The candidate will work as an Engineer in the National Cytometry Platform (NCP). S/he will mainly be responsible for:  1/ The Development of cell-based assays having flow, mass, and imaging cytometry as read-out; 2/ Support users in performing optimal cytometric experiments for their specific projects (e.g., panel design, protocol optimization, acquisition, and data analysis); 3/ Support the NCP team in maintaining the equipment and performing the necessary quality controls

Key Accountabilities
  • Develop cell-based assays for immune monitoring studies
  • Implement validation strategies for cell-based assays
  • Maintain the equipment inside the facility and perform the necessary quality controls
  • Evaluate and troubleshoot problems
  • Assist the user of the core facility in experimental design/protocol development, data acquisition
  • Assist with analyzing and presenting the data using the different available software (Diva, FlowJo, Infinicyt, FCAP, Cytobank, R, Ideas, Prism, Tableau Desktop, …)
  • Endorse the ISO9001 quality management system
  • Keep updated with the latest relevant developments in the field of cytometry. Being active in the flow community by participating in public forums and congress
  • Master/Engineer Diploma or higher in Biotechnology, Biology, or Biomedical sciences.
  • Practical experience in the following areas: flow cytometry, mass cytometry, imaging cytometry, cell sorting, immunology, oncology, bio-medical research
  • Hands-on experience with cell based assays and operating flow analyzers
  • Ability to report experimental results verbally and in written form
  • Self-driven motivation, service oriented, sense of initiative, ability to work independently and meet responsibilities without continuous supervision
  • Good verbal communication skills and being able to interact successfully with a broad range of individuals
  • Fluent command of English. Knowledge of another language of the European Union is an asset.
